Baby Sign: First Signs

We've been introducing Alyria to baby sign since day one. Not too much, just a few basics like milk, burp, all done, and a phrase like "I'm going to change your diaper." I've never been able to tell how much of it she understands despite how observant she appears to be.

But today she finally started doing the sign for "milk". She did it couple times and it appeared to be in the right context. So I'm hopefully this will be a trend.

Alyria doesn't really have any consistent cues to distinguish between hunger and tired. We've learned to infer a lot from her behavior rather than her cries, but we're right maybe about 70%.

She's still a ways off from talking, so even some basic communication will help enormously.
