A mini kitchen

We've been talking about getting Alyria a mini kitchen set for a while. We finally got one! It's the IKEA Duktig.

About a week ago, we put it together for her. She tends to be curious and likes to inspect and touch things. So I was excpecting more of that. But she was super excited, jumping and squealing! She knew it was for her of course! It was adorable! But I hadn't ever seen her rect that way to something we presented her, so it took me by surprise. Maybe next time I'll be able to get a recording. Either way, we lived in the moment. And it was a wonderful moment.

We're not going to install the fake stove. Of course we're following Montessori principles and instead, mom is planning on attaching a bucket and hose and making a function sink. She certainly needs more water play.
