First time watching Nutcracker
As a four-year old, Alyria still has a fairly short attention span when it comes to most things. Even when eating (one of her favorite pastimes), she'll be extremely fidgety in the chair. We thought it might be time to stretch her though. A local ballet school put on a shorter version of The Nutcracker aimed at kids -- one hour. For a child that can't sit still for 2 minutes or hold a conversation longer than 30 seconds, this was certainly going to be a stretch.
I was fully expecting an antsy child that couldn't sit in her seat or pay attention to the performers. Instead, she ended up being rather glued to the whole thing, and even knew well enough to only speak in-between dances when people were clapping. And at the end of the show, she exclaimed "again!"
I guess we'll have to take her to more ballets!
